Hytale Chapter 1: Out of the Breach Release & What's New

Release Date: October 12, 2026

Hytale Chapter 1, officially called Chapter I: Out of the Breach, came out on October 12, 2026 as Update 7. It works on existing Exploration Mode saves as well as new worlds. How to Start Chapter 1

Go to the Forgotten Temple and explore its new Goblin Lab; that unlocks the chapter. A new Chapter screen then lists your objectives and what each one unlocks. The temple bed can't be used during the chapter. Source: Chapter I: Out of the Breach.

What Chapter 1 Adds

• Goblin Breaches: temporary portals that start appearing after a few nights, or once you investigate the disturbance at the temple. They lead to The Guttering Hollows, a goblin fragment of Orbis that is rebuilt on every visit until the Void pushes you out. See Goblin Breach.
• The goblins: a reworked faction in many shapes and sizes. Not all of them want a fight, and most run from Void creatures unless they have friends nearby.
• The Deepworks: Hytale's first handcrafted dungeon, with the Goblin Feastmaster partway through and the multi-phase Gobliterator boss at the end. See Chapter 1 Bosses.
• Runestones: 7 Ability and 8 Modifier Runestones, slotted into a Runebinder's Lattice and powered by Mana. See the Runes List.
• Gadgets: the Scrap Drill, Spyglass, Scrap Glider, Rocket Boots, Hookshot, Bangstick and Goblin Repair Kit. See Goblin Gadgets.
• Gear: several new weapons themed on Chapter 1 encounters, and longer durability for every tool and weapon tier. See the Weapons List and the Armor List.
• Minigames: Prop Hunt and Shuffle Jam, from the main menu.
• More: 2 new portal worlds, over 100 cosmetics, throwable barrels, new blocks and music, and French and Spanish.

Is Update 7 the Same as Chapter 1?

Yes. The official notes for Chapter I: Out of the Breach are the full Update 7 changelog. Update 7 had been in pre-release testing since September 3, 2026; the timeline is in the Hytale Update Tracker.

What Comes After Chapter 1?

The July First Look placed the crafting overhaul in Chapter 2 and, if development went well, Companions too. Those were July plans, and Chapter 2 has no announced date. The official Chapter 1 post also says Cursebreaker Edition owners receive a free Standard Edition copy to hand out with each Early Access chapter.
