Hytale Goblin Gadgets: Rocket Boots, Hookshot, Glider & Drill

Chapter 1 (Update 7) arrived on October 12, 2026 with seven goblin tools and gadgets: the Rocket Boots, the Hookshot, the Scrap Glider, the Scrap Drill, the Spyglass, the Bangstick and the Goblin Repair Kit. The gadgets are made at the Goblin Tinkerer's Workbench in the Forgotten Temple. What each one does comes from the official Chapter I notes; recipes, durability and material sources come from the Hytale Wiki.

Where to Craft Gadgets: the Goblin Tinkerer's Workbench

• Where it is: the Goblin Tinkerer's Workbench is found in the Forgotten Temple. You can't craft one yourself.
• Power it first: a Goblin Power Generator near the bench powers it up. The generator needs 10 Scraps to start.
• Unlock the rest with the Boiler: activating the Boiler near the bench unlocks the remaining gadget recipes. How to activate the Boiler: To be updated.
• Four recipe tabs: Gadgets, Fragments, Decoration and Runestones. The Engine unlocks the remaining Fragment recipes and the Compressor the remaining Decoration recipes.

Gadget Recipes

Shopping list for the five main gadgets (one of each, plus one Hook Anchor batch for the Hookshot): 232 Scraps, 21 Iron Ingots, 10 Copper Ingots, 9 Boom Powder, 13 Dubious Assembly, 3 Spider Silk, 2 Voidtaken Grizzly Hides, 2 Enkindled Sigils and 1 Void Crystal Shards. Where to Get the Materials

• Scraps: break scrap piles (a Shiny Scrap Pile gives up to 15, a Large Scrap Pile up to 4), open chests in The Guttering Hollows (6 to 40 per chest, 20 to 120 from a Veilbound Coffer), and defeat goblins. The Goblin Feastmaster drops 20 to 30.
• Dubious Assembly: craft it from 25 Scraps and 1 Void Crystal Shards at the Tinkerer's Workbench. It also drops from the Goblin Feastmaster, sometimes from a Shiny Scrap Pile, and from Tier 4 chests in The Guttering Hollows.
• Boom Powder: harvest Boomshrooms in caves, or craft it from 2 Small Boomshrooms and 1 Charcoal. Goblin Lobbers drop 1 to 3, and Goblin Caches hold 4 to 6.
• Voidtaken Grizzly Hide: dropped by the Voidtaken Grizzly during the Predator Sighted world event.
• Enkindled Sigil: Revenant Guardians in the Cave Crypts of The Guttering Hollows drop 2 each. Hollow Ancient Chests sometimes hold one.
• Void Crystal Shards: dropped by Revenant Guardians, Void Crystals and Void Fiends, and found in Tier 3 to 5 chests in The Guttering Hollows.
• Spider Silk: dropped by Cave Spiders, Cave Spiderlings and Goblin Burners.
• Iron and Copper Ingots: smelt the ores. See Ore & Material Locations.

How Each Gadget Works

Rocket Boots

Wear them in the legs slot to get a rocket-burst double jump while you are in the air. The double jump has its own sound effect.

Hookshot

Fire it at a Hook Anchor to reel yourself in, or at a target to pull it toward you. Hook Anchors can sit on any side of a block, and some already exist in structures in The Guttering Hollows. The Hookshot uses a small dot crosshair.

Scrap Glider

Equip it while you are in the air to start gliding. You can dive and climb and keep your momentum, but it uses Stamina, so watch the bar before a long glide. Jumping again and again no longer gains extra height (pre-release notes).

Scrap Drill

Breaks a 2x2 patch of blocks at once and can break metal blocks and loot them. You have to stand closer than with normal tools, and a Salvager's Workbench turns a Scrap Drill back into 2 Iron Ore (Hytale Wiki).

Bangstick and Goblin Repair Kit

The Bangstick is a stick you throw that goes bang. The Goblin Repair Kit repairs an item without lowering its maximum durability, unlike the normal Repair Kit; see the Repair Calculator for how much a normal repair costs. Their recipes: To be updated.

Spyglass

Hold the right mouse button to zoom in on distant things. Zooming no longer stops your Stamina from recovering, and it only works through see-through glass. Some world events, such as Predator Sighted, use the Spyglass for an objective.
