Hytale Bosses List: Locations, Health & Drops

Last updated: 2026-10-12

Hytale's first full boss fight arrived with Chapter 1 on October 12, 2026: the multi-phase Gobliterator at the end of The Deepworks, the first handcrafted dungeon, with the Goblin Feastmaster on the way. Chapter 1 Bosses covers them and the new elites of The Guttering Hollows. This page lists the older elite enemies that guard Forgotten Temple gateways, dungeons, camps and hives. Source: Chapter I: Out of the Breach.

The Hytale Wiki also counts only the dragons as bosses so far, and they cannot be fought yet. Health and drops below come from the Hytale Wiki page for each enemy, checked against the official patch notes and a gameplay video. Each entry says how well it is sourced: Official (patch notes), Two sources agree (the Hytale Wiki and a gameplay video), Single source, Sources disagree (both values are given) or Not in the game yet.

Crystal Golems: The Forgotten Temple Guardians

Each of the four zones has a Forgotten Temple gateway, and a Crystal Golem guards it. Update 4 made each Temple Golem drop its own gem: Earth Crystal Golems drop Emeralds, Flame Crystal Golems drop Rubies, Frost Crystal Golems drop Sapphires, Sand Crystal Golems drop Zephyrs and Thunder Crystal Golems drop Topazes (Official). Source: Update 4 patch notes. The Hytale Wiki lists their current names as Earthen, Sandswept, Frost and Ember Golem.

How they fight, according to the Hytale Wiki: a golem stands still until a player comes within 10 blocks, then attacks, and it returns to its post when the player moves away (about 10–15 blocks; 15–22 for the Earthen Golem). Its attacks follow a fixed order: left arm swing, right arm swing, spin, ground slam, spin, stomp, heavy spin, clap. The heavy spin hits 10 times in a row and is its most dangerous move. A defeated golem respawns after one in-game day.

Earthen Golem (Zone 1)

Sourcing: Official (Emerald drop); Two sources agree (location and health).

  • Where: in front of the Forgotten Temple gateway in the Ruined Temple, in the Drifting Plains of the Emerald Wilds; also in an underground arena of the Magic Ruins dungeon, next to Root Spirits.
  • Health: 160.
  • Drops: Emerald (1), Green Crystal Shards (3–7), Cobblestone (14–28).
  • Tip: the Hytale Wiki says the enemies in the Magic Ruins challenge players who have not crafted Iron gear yet.
  • Sources: Hytale Wiki: Earthen Golem, Hytale Wiki: Magic Ruins, Plankirio video (Portuguese), February 15, 2026.

Sandswept Golem (Zone 2)

Sourcing: Official (Zephyr drop); Two sources agree (location and health).

  • Where: in front of the Forgotten Temple gateway in the Howling Sands, and in the boss room of the Labyrinth dungeon.
  • Health: 193. It deals 47 damage per hit, while the other Crystal Golems deal 10, and the Hytale Wiki calls it very difficult to kill with melee weapons.
  • Drops: Zephyr (1), Cyan Crystal Shards (15), Cobblestone (25).
  • Sources: Hytale Wiki: Sandswept Golem, Plankirio video, February 15, 2026.

Frost Golem (Zone 3)

Sourcing: Official (Sapphire drop); Two sources agree (location and health).

Ember Golem (Zone 4)

Sourcing: Official (Ruby drop); Two sources agree (location); Single source (health, Hytale Wiki).

Thunder Golem

Sourcing: Not in the game yet.

Update 4 lists a Topaz drop for Thunder Crystal Golems, but the Hytale Wiki says the Thunder Golem does not spawn yet and will likely guard a Forgotten Temple gateway in a future zone. Sources: Update 4 patch notes, Hytale Wiki: Thunder Golem.

Firesteel Golem (Zones 1, 2 and 4)

Sourcing: Two sources agree.

  • Where: volcanic caves beneath the Emerald Wilds, Howling Sands and Devastated Lands; it can also spawn in Mage Towers in the Devastated Lands. It is the only golem that does not guard a Forgotten Temple.
  • Health: 224. It stays near its spawn point and returns there after a chase.
  • Drops: Essence of Fire (1–5), Iron Ingot (1–2).
  • Sources: Hytale Wiki: Firesteel Golem, Plankirio video, February 15, 2026.

Goblin Duke (Zone 1)

Sourcing: Two sources agree (location and health); Single source (drops, Hytale Wiki).

  • Where: on its throne in the boss room of the Goblin Lair, a Zone 1 dungeon, guarding treasure and trash piles.
  • Health: 226. Game files hint at a three-phase fight (226, 320 and 200 health), but for now it behaves like a regular enemy and attacks with an iron sword.
  • Drops: Silver Bar (1–2, always), Gold Bar (1–2, 50%), Scrap Shield (15%), Linen Scraps (2–4).
  • Sources: Hytale Wiki: Goblin Duke, Plankirio video, February 15, 2026.

Burnt Skeleton Praetorian (Zones 1 and 4)

Sourcing: Two sources agree.

  • Where: the final boss of the Cursed Crypt, a Zone 1 dungeon whose entrance stands in a graveyard. It also stands in the middle of the Skeleton Arena, and it can spawn with two Burnt Skeleton Archers or Soldiers in the Seedling Woods and The Fens (Zone 1) and in the Cinder Wastes (Zone 4).
  • Health: 226. It lunges to close the distance, and below 100 health it can call nearby Skeleton Knights into the fight.
  • Drops: Thorium Ingot (1–3, 70%), Cobalt Ingot (1–3, 30%), Essence of Fire (3–6), one piece of Ancient Steel armor (15%).
  • Sources: Hytale Wiki: Burnt Skeleton Praetorian, Hytale Wiki: Cursed Crypt, Plankirio video, February 15, 2026.

Trork Chieftain (Zone 1)

Sourcing: Two sources agree (location); Single source (health and drops, Hytale Wiki).

  • Where: the open-air throne room of a Tier 3 Trork Camp, also called the castle, in the Emerald Wilds. It sits on its throne until a player approaches; other Trorks kneel before it, and it also attacks Kweebecs.
  • Health: 124. Damage: 35.
  • Drops: Linen Scraps (1–3), Stone Trork Battleaxe (15%), one piece of Trork Warrior armor (5%).
  • Sources: Hytale Wiki: Trork Chieftain, Plankirio video, February 15, 2026.

Scarak Broodmother (Zone 2)

Sourcing: Sources disagree (health); Official (Lice rule).

  • Where: deep inside Scarak Hives in the Howling Sands.
  • Health: 145 according to the Hytale Wiki; a February 2026 video gives 124.
  • Fight: it summons pairs of Scarak Fighters and groups of 2–4 Scarak Lice. Since Update 5 it only summons Lice when none are nearby (Official). It is immune to poison and environmental damage.
  • Drops: Venom Sac (2–3), Sturdy Chitin (4–6).
  • Sources: Hytale Wiki: Scarak Broodmother, Update 5 patch notes, Plankirio video, February 15, 2026.

Yeti (Zone 3)

Sourcing: Two sources agree.

  • Where: caves on tall mountains near the snowy biomes of the Whisperfrost Frontiers. Look for ice spikes and a campfire at the entrance.
  • Health: 226. It picks up chunks of earth and throws them at players.
  • Known bug (Hytale Wiki): weak attacks, such as a dagger's slash, can make it regenerate to full health; stronger attacks do not.
  • Drops: Heavy Hide (2–4), Essence of Ice (2–3).
  • Sources: Hytale Wiki: Yeti, Plankirio video, February 15, 2026.

Cave Rex (Zone 4)

Sourcing: Two sources agree.

  • Where: the Tropical Jungle beneath the Devastated Lands. It attacks players and animals on sight.
  • Health: 400. Damage: 68, the highest of the enemies on this list that can be fought.
  • Drops: Heavy Hide (2–3), Raw Wildmeat (2–3).
  • Sources: Hytale Wiki: Cave-Rex, Plankirio video, February 15, 2026.

Frost Dragon (Dragonspire Weald)

Sourcing: Sources disagree.

The Hytale Wiki says the Frost Dragon sleeps on a mountain peak in the Dragonspire Weald, which players reach through a portal, and that it cannot be woken or fought yet; it lists 400 health and no drops. A February 2026 video called it the final boss of Zone 3, which no longer matches the wiki. Update 6 made portals to the Dragonspire Weald appear faster (Official). Sources: Hytale Wiki: Frost Dragon, Hytale Wiki: Boss, Update 6 patch notes.

Bosses in Order

There is no official boss order. The Hytale Wiki says the four zones are meant to be played in order, from Zone 1 to Zone 4, but nothing stops you from visiting them in any order. Zone 2 begins about 1 km south of where you spawn and Zone 3 about 1 km north. Zone 4 is a set of islands a few kilometers away: the Hytale Wiki's zone overview places them about 1–2 km east, while its Zone 4 page says they can be in any direction. Golem health rises zone by zone (160, 193, 224, 283). Grouped by zone, from the starting zone outward:

  • Zone 1, Emerald Wilds: Earthen Golem, Trork Chieftain, Goblin Duke, Burnt Skeleton Praetorian
  • Zone 2, Howling Sands: Sandswept Golem, Scarak Broodmother
  • Zone 3, Whisperfrost Frontiers: Frost Golem, Yeti
  • Zone 4, Devastated Lands: Ember Golem, Cave Rex

The Firesteel Golem lives underground in Zones 1, 2 and 4. Sources: Hytale Wiki: Zone, Hytale Wiki: Devastated Lands.

How to Find a Boss With /locate

With commands turned on, /locate dungeon <name> finds the nearest dungeon by name (Update 6), and /locate finds the coordinates of, or teleports you to, biomes, zones, regions and prefabs (Update 5). The named dungeons with an elite enemy in the final room are the Cursed Crypt (Burnt Skeleton Praetorian), Goblin Lair (Goblin Duke) and Magic Ruins (Earthen Golem) in Zone 1, and the Labyrinth (Sandswept Golem) in Zone 2. See the Hytale Commands List for how to turn commands on. Sources: Update 6 patch notes, Update 5 patch notes, Hytale Wiki: Dungeon.

Before a Hard Fight

What you lose when you die depends on your world's death settings. The Death Penalty & Keep Inventory guide explains the options and how to change them. For the strongest weapon of each type and its damage, see the Weapons List; for the best armor set, see the Armor List.

Coming With Chapter 1

Chapter 1 (October 12, 2026) added The Deepworks, Hytale's first handcrafted dungeon: the Goblin Feastmaster blocks the way, the multi-phase Gobliterator waits at the end, and a button beside the boss room starts a hard mode (Official). See Chapter 1 Bosses for where they are, their health and their drops.

A Correction

This page replaces two older guides on this site, Trogg Strongholds and Dangerous Creatures, which described enemies that do not exist in Hytale. The Hytale Wiki has no Troggs or Lava Frogs. The leader of the Trork camps is the Trork Chieftain, listed above.
